Western Regional Master Training Camp-2008 |
| Sensei Anand Ratna will be conducting an Instructor Training Camp for the Western Region in Mumbai from the 22nd October to 24th of October 2008. The camp is open to Instrutors and their assistants. |
East India Regional Training Camp |
| Sensei Pankaj Kumar Singh of Jharkhand State had organized The Eastern Regional Training Camp for JKA India. The Camp was held on the 18th & 19th July 2008 in Choibasa. The Chief Instructor for the Camp was Sensei Anand Ratna, the Technical Director for JKA India. Nearly three hundred participants from the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa participated in the event which was followed by the Jharkhand State Championships. Sensei Ratna conducted a Referee and Judge Seminar prior to the Championships |
All India Training Camp, Tournament and Karate Demonstration |
Mumbai, 27th January 2008 to 2nd Feb 2008 |
The 25th JKA India National Program was held in Mumbai on the above mentioned dates and consisted of a training camp, tournament, technical seminar and & gradings
The 25th National Training Camp was conducted from the 28th to the 30th of January 2008. The Invited Guest Instructors were
Shihan Ogura Yasunori 7th Dan JKA Headquarters Instructor, All Japan Kumite Champion and Sensei Kurihara Kazuaki, the current All JKA and the World Shoto Cup Kata Champion. The two along with Sasaki Yoshiataka Sensei 6th Dan former JKA Headquarters Instructor, Junichiro Nishiotoba Sensei 6th Dan and Shihan Shoichi Sasaki 7th Dan , Chief Instructor for India conducted the 3 day training Camp
Technical Seminar for Judge and Instructor up to C Kyu and Examiner Licences up to D kyu. Linza Syiem from Meghalaya and Pankaj Kumar Singh from Jharkhand and M. Jadli from Uttarakhand appeared for Yon Dan.
The 25th National Tournament was held on the 31st January 2008 & 1st February 2008. The Men's Individual Kata Title was retained by Neeraj Dhawan and the Women's Tiltle by Linza Syiem from Meghalaya. The Men's Individual Kumitre Title was won by Vivek Verma from Delhi and the Women's Title was retained by Divya Revankar from Maharashtra. The Junior Division was completely dominated by Meghalaya who won 39 medals in all. The Final Events were Judged by Ogura Sensei as Chief Judge with Yoshitaka Sensei, Nishitoba Sensei, Kurihara Sensei and Ratna Sensei as Sub Judges. The Team Kumite Event was won by Maharashtra on Ippons and the Team Kata event was won by Delhi.
Karate Demonstation A scintilatting karate-do demonstration was given by the Guest Instructors Senseis Ogura and Kurihara. The demonstration began with Kurihara Sensei performing Kata Souchin. This was followed by Ogura Sensei demosnstrating techniques of self - defence while seated against attacks done by Kurihara Sensei. The performance ended with Jiyu Kumite techniques being performed by both the senseis against each other. .
Taiko Demonstration The evening of the 1st also saw a Demonstration by the Okayama Taiko Troupe which had the JKA India students performing dances in the stands.
Prize Distribution
The Chief Guest for the Evening was Mr. Iwanade the Chief Consul of the Consulate General Of Japan , who also gave away the Prizes.

The 25th National Program of the JKA India was officially included in the Government of Japan's list of events for the Japan India Friendship Year 2007 and
celebrated as a part of the Prestigious Mumabi Festival. |

REGIONAL CAMPS |
| The Technical Director has anounced the holding of regional camps to standardize the level of instruction of JKA. The camps will be held in the 5 regions of the country. The first of the regional camps is being held in Hyderabad from the 7th to the 9th of September2007. The next camp will be held in the western region in October followed by the Eastern Region and Northern regionin in November The Camp will include instruction, judging seminar and kyu examinations upto 1st kyu and National Homologation gradings for Federation purposes will also be held during these camps. |

TITLES RETAINED BY MAHARASHTRA AND WEST BENGAL | Maharashtra

a day that saw both the runners up of the last championship's clinch their well
deserved titles, Anand Mane,and
Divya Revankar made their dreams come true when they won the coveted Individual
Kumite Titles.
Mane and Divya both of whom narrowly lost the title last year made no mistake
this year to defeat their rivals
this year. Anand defeated compratriot Rohan Satam and Divya won with Linza Syiem
of Meghalaya to take home the
Kumite Men's and Women's Individual Kumite crowns respectively. The
Kata Event saw a whole new lot of youngsters come into the fray which behoves
well for JKA India. The Men's
Individual kata event title was retained by Neeraj Dhawan of Delhi who performed
Niju shi ho. The 2nd place
went to Donboklong Lyngdoh of Meghalaya who performed Unsu and the 3rd place was
won by Biswajit
Modal with his performance of Goju Shi ho Sho. The women's event saw a tie for
the 1st place and in the rematch,
Linza Fenny Syiem of Meghalaya won the Title relegating Maharashtra's Sharmila
Gharu to 2nd place and
last year's winner Dvya Revankar to 3rd place. Linza regained the title after
a gap of nearly 4 years.The
Team Title was retained by the West Bengal team comprising of Biswajit Mondal,
Kunal Dey and Arindam Singh,
the second place was
won by Maharahstra Team comprising of Sitaram Chavan, Subhash Nair and Arun Naikude.
The Delhi team comprising Neeraj Dhawan, Vivek Varma and Balbir Singh won the
third placeThe
Team kumite Title was retained by Maharashtra with arch rivals, Delhi forcing
a Best fighter bout with the victories
and the scores being level. The National Open Champion Mane from Maharashtra won
the decider bout
defeating Neeraj Dhawan from Delhi giving the Title to Maharashtra.17
